Dalton Little Theatre prepares to celebrate a famous American playwright in their production of An Evening With Tennessee Williams that opens Friday, July 20th and runs for two weekends.
Director Jeffery Adair and the select cast has poured their heart and soul into this production at Dalton Little Theater. They began working on their performances in March of this year. Under the umbrella title “The Garden District,” these two Tennessee Williams one-act plays ”Something Unspoken” and “Suddenly Last Summer” opened Off Broadway in January 1958 to much critical acclaim. One critique wrote that the curtain raiser “Something Unspoken” is as spare and elliptical as the closer “Suddenly Last Summer” is ripe and excessive. The strengths of both plays are once again revealed in our production. The shows have adult themes and are both serious well-written and acted dramatic pieces
Judith Beasley and Nancy Broussard perform in “Something Unspoken” as they peel away their characters hostory, layer by layer, to expose the two complex, conflicted women and their relationship. In “Suddenly Last Summer,” Jordan Cox, William Brooks, Kristen Douglas, Katie Johansson, Jessica Keith, Karen Keith, and Ashley Larsen tell a horrifyingly dark tale of lust and lies. Chase Parker will host; Caeli Evans is stage manager. Performance dates are June 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28 at 7:00 and June 22 at 2:00. Tickets are available at daltonlittletheatre.com or by calling 706-226-6618.
*Please Note, this production contains some adult themes.
