The Murray Arts Council in collaboration with the Chatsworth Ukulele Club is celebrating the mighty ukulele by hosting Chatsworth’s first ever ukulele festival at the City Park. The festival is scheduled for May 19th from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.. Bring your ukulele and join us for an afternoon of fun.
Attendees will hear performances by The Newbillies from Murphy, NC, the von Wamps from Hixson, TN, The West Georgia Ukulele Ensemble, the Brasstown Ukulele Group and Chatsworth Ukulele Club. Want to learn the ukulele? Chatsworth Ukulele Club members will be on hand to help get you started. You can also attend a ukulele restringing workshop, so bring your ukulele and learn this useful skill.
There will be an Open Mike sign up if you have a uke song you need to share with the world. Attendees may also join in some fun strum- and sing-alongs led by experienced ukers!
Door Prizes and Drawings: Our generous sponsors have provided a variety of accessories for us to share. We will have door prizes, drawings and a great raffle. You might even win a new ukulele!
We will even have a Ukulele Petting Zoo where you can pick up and play different types of ukuleles.
