Join us for an insightful talk by Dr. Todd Bridges, a Professor of Practice with UGA’s Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems. This event is free and open to the public and will be held on September 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Goodroe Auditorium at Dalton State College.
Dr. Bridges, with 17 years of experience as the Senior Research Scientist for Environmental Science with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, will discuss how innovative nature-based solutions can directly benefit our community. In response to a changing climate, these solutions can improve community resilience, protect homes and businesses from flooding, beautify neighborhoods, and create more green spaces for everyone to enjoy. Learn about sustainable practices that can lead to cleaner air and water, better health, and cost savings through reduced energy consumption and maintenance expenses.
Dr. Bridges founded the Engineering with Nature® Program and contributed to the White House report, “Opportunities to Accelerate Nature-Based Solutions: A Roadmap for Climate Progress, Thriving Nature, Equity, & Prosperity.” His exceptional leadership was recognized with a Distinguished Presidential Rank Award from President Biden in 2021.
