On Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Dalton State College room 105, Dr. Jelani Favors, Assistant Professor of History at Clayton State University is visiting for the 4th Annual Black History Month Speak Series. The title of the talk is: A Charge to Keep: How Black Colleges Ignited the Civil Rights Movement and Transformed American Democracy. It will focus on the themes of his forthcoming book entitled Shelter in a Time of Storm: How Black Colleges Fostered Generations of Leadership and Activism, which will be published by the University of North Carolina Press in 2019.
