The Creative Arts Guild and Wrens Nest Center for Wellbeing are excited to continue “awaken: art+yoga” which pairs yoga with art to visually complement one’s physical and meditative practice. The yoga sessions are hosted by Yoga by Cindy and Wrens Nest Center for Wellbeing and are offered within the galleries and on the grounds of the Creative Arts Guild each second Saturday of the month from 9:00am to 10:00am. The first session on February 9th was wonderfully successful as it “entangled” the attendees in and through artist Jeffrey Morton’s exhibit “INVASIVE” in Gallery FIVE20, leading them in movement and yogic postures designed for all ability levels, and then wrapping up with a meditation accompanied by a spoken word composition.
Join Cindy Michaels and Guild Gallery Director Savannah Thomas for another relaxing morning of yoga on March 9. Come and AWAKEN your mind, body and heart with simple stretches and postures, this time reflecting on the dual themes of playing and nurturing. This will be a great session for adults and children of all ages! The session will be held in Jonas Hall surrounded by the vibrant and spirited 2019 Student Arts Expo exhibit which opens March 1st.
Bring your own mat if you have one (props too if desired). There will be a few available to use – first come first serve. All awaken sessions are free and open to the public but $5 suggested donations are appreciated. For more information contact Savannah Thomas at 706.279.3129 or at savannaht@creativeartsguild.org.
