View the West Hill Cemetery entrance guarded by a cannon marking the area where General Joseph E. Johnson staged his last grand review of the Confederate army of Tennessee prior to the Atlanta campaign. Four hundred and twenty-one Confederate soldiers and four unknown Union soldiers are buried  in the West Hill Cemetery. A memorial wall has been erected listing the names of the Confederate soldiers. Dalton was also the home of several important Confederate hospitals during the war.
