One thing Dalton is becoming known for these days is our taste for good brews. With several new bars, breweries, distilleries and taverns opening in the last few years, more and more people are heading downtown to “Get their Drink On!” One of the most popular events last year was the Downtown Dalton Pub Crawl that took place in the fall of 2017, which had a great turnout for downtown participating establishments. Well, the event is back for a Spring time Crawl and like last year, the proceeds go towards a great cause.
This years Crawl is being called the “Books 4 Brews Pub Crawl” and the proceeds go to ‘The Readers 2 Leaders” program whose mission is to impress upon young minds the importance of education and reading. Readers to Leaders is a community-wide initiative focused on preparing residents for the workforce through literacy and school success.
This years Downtown Dalton Pub Crawl takes place on Saturday, May 12th between 5:00 and 10:00 PM. Several popular Downtown spots are participating in the Pub Crawl and ALL will have special drink and food prices for Pub Crawl attendees. Most will have LIVE MUSIC at their venues that night. The price for wristbands are $20.00 per person which can be purchased at participating establishments. However, attendees will get a dollar discount for every book they donate, up to $10 off. That’s right, if you donate ten books you will receive $10 off the price of your wristband. ALL participating venues will have bins set up in their establishments for book donations.
