The Creative Arts Guild’s “In Concert Series: A Collection of Roots Music”, is pleased to announce “A Night of Blues” featuringguitarists Craig Pratt, Jimmy Dormire, and John Buckner performing Friday evening, May 18th from 7:00 – 9:00pm in the Guild’s Jonas Hall. Don’t miss this superbly talented trio; they have some serious soul-healing music for you! Famed musician, Peter Tork, describes the blues this way: “The blues brings you back into the fold. The blues isn’t about the blues, it’s about the fact we’ve all had the blues and we’re are all in this together.”
John Buckner is a bit of a local legend. A long-time player in the music industry, John’s extensive resume includes work with Gregg Allman, Ray Stevens, Jerry Lee Lewis, T. Graham Brown, James Otto, Lee Greenwood, Loretta Lynn, and Ronnie Millsap. John has also had two top 100 hits in Billboard magazine.
Jimmy Dormire has been playing professionally since his teens and worked in the Nashville scene including playing with Grammy nominated Atlantic recording artists “Confederate Railroad” and guesting with Charlie Daniels Band and Marshall Tucker Band. More recently he toured with the late legendary Father of JamBand “Col. Bruce Hampton”. Jimmy’s music is rooted in Southern Rock, Blues, and Jazz, and thrives on a message of peace.
Hailing from the foothills of Chatsworth, GA, local musician and songwriter Craig Pratt is one of the finest around. For the past 12 years he has honed his craft and toured the country with various bands. Pratt’s diverse musical influences range from Stevie Wonder to Jerry Reed and everything in between. And, it comes through in his playing which he describes as “Appalachian Motown meets cosmic honkey-tonk”!
