The Downtown Dalton Summer Music Series presents The Arcadian Wild on Friday night, August 3rd at 7:30PM. Opening for The Arcadian Wild will be Dobro player, Lou Wamp.

Lou Wamp has played some kind of instrument as long as he can remember. Born at Ft. Benning, GA, he grew up hearing his grandfather play “Travis style” guitar and became enamored with stringed instruments. He studied music at Cadek Conservatory in Chattanooga, and fine art at the University of Tennnessee (BA, 1980). In the late 70’s he fell in love with the resonator guitar (dobro) and, like Jerry Douglas, began to explore it as an instrument without creative limitations.

The Arcadian Wild is a folk trio from Nashville, TN, made up of Isaac Horn on guitar, Lincoln Mick on mandolin, and Machaela Nesler on fiddle. With all three of its members contributing as songwriters, vocalists, and players, the band explores a unique acoustic sound, one simultaneously unified and diverse. Together, they seek to offer up songs of invitation to their listeners; calls to come and see, to find refuge and rest, or to journey and wonder at the people and places set before us.

The Downtown Dalton Summer Music Series is a FREE live music event open to the public. Live Music takes place every Friday Night at 7:30PM at the new Burr Performing Arts Park. The Music Series lasts from June 8th until August 31st.
