Like always, the weather in Northwest Georgia has been up and down. Some days it’s cold, others not so much. Truly seasonal around this time of year. 

However, in the winter of 1864 a heavy snow fell in Northwest Georgia covering Dalton and surrounding towns in thick white powder. What’s one to do when so much snow falls? Have an epic snowball fight of course…and while hunkered down for a long winter, that’s exactly what 6,000 Confederate troops did.
