Summer Music Series – June 29th – The 9th Street Stompers

Summer Music Series – June 29th – The 9th Street Stompers

Who’s ready for some foot stomping music? The Downtown Dalton Summer Music Series returns Friday, June 29th at 7:30PM at Burr Park Featuring the 9th Street Stompers.

The 9th Street Stompers are an outfit of well-dressed no-counts chopping on acoustic instruments and singing about life, death, love, and liquor. Hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee, they cull up the musical scenery of an era when the lines between swing, gypsy jazz, blues, rockabilly, and tango weren’t’ nearly as hard and fast as the drinking and dancing. Steering clear of much of the novelty and kitsch associated with pre-war music, they choose to demonstrate the modern relevance of their chosen medium. This is one band you don’t want to miss!

The 9th Street Stompers will take the stage at Burr Park at 7:30PM. As always, the Downtown Dalton Development Authority will be selling several brands of Ice Cold Beer as well as bottled water. Outside Alcoholic beverages are not permitted. However, outside food and non-alcoholic beverages ARE allowed inside the park. So grab some to-go food from somewhere downtown, come over to Burr Park and enjoy the FREE concert.

The Downtown Dalton Summer Music series is a FREE live Music event sponsored by BB&T Bank, BB&T Insurance, the Dalton Convention & Visitors Bureau, The Downtown Dalton Development Authority, The Community Foundation of NWGA and the Creative Arts Guild.
