This week the Off The Rails Summer Music Series welcomes the Etowah Jazz Society. Concerts take place on the stage at Beautiful Burr Performing Artspark located right in the heart of Historic Downtown, Dalton. This event is FREE for everyone, so bring your friends, family, lawn chairs, and come enjoy the show.
The Etowah Jazz Society is a Big Band..The Etowah Jazz Society (EJS) was formed in April of 2002 as a not-for-profit organization.scholarship funding over $40,000.00 towards the advancement of Jazz and music. The group also created a Jazz Festival that ran for 2 years and brought the GMEA jazz band as well as the UGA Jazz Ensemble to Cartersville for master classes with jazz greats such as Steve Dancz and Phillip Harper, and a concert. The group has funded the musicians for the summer youth theater program at the Grand Theater for about 7 years. This band is regarded as a major contributor to the arts efforts and education in North Georgia.The EJS plays live at many events ranging from indoor and outdoor concerts , Swing Dances in Atlanta at Ga Tech and KSU, for the ASEDA Dance Group, as well as fundraisers and weddings, Christmas Concerts and other events all over North Georgia and the Atlanta area.
