The Creative Arts Guild proudly announces the opening of the 55th annual Student Arts Expo Friday, March 2nd from 5:30-7:00 pm, at its facility at 520 West Waugh Street in Dalton.

March is Arts in Education Month at the Creative Arts Guild, and we’re excited to continue our tradition of Student Arts Expo with our local students being the featured artists for the month of March. The fun begins at 5:30pm with light refreshments plus student dance and music performances throughout the evening.

Each year, all Whitfield/Dalton and Murray County public, private and homeschool students ages Pre-K to High School are invited to exhibit individual art. All forms of two-dimensional and three-dimensional art are accepted. Also, school classrooms are encouraged to submit collaborative work in the “Art Together” project. Prizes for best work are awarded on Friday, March 2nd before the exhibit officially opens that evening. The winning collaborative project in each grade level will receive a $100 cash award to be used for an artist-in-residence fee, art supplies, or other classroom art resources during the school year.

Elementary and Middle Schools will exhibit in the Jonas Hall, High School students’ work will be shown in Gallery Five20, and the coveted Spigel Prize winner will have a solo show in Gallery One11.

Student Arts EXPO 2017 will be on display March 2nd through March 23rd allowing time for families, friends, and the general public to see the student artwork. The galleries are open to the public Monday through Thursday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Friday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

The reception and exhibit tours are free and open to the public. Please plan to visit the Guild to see the phenomenal student work and to support our future artists!
